Peyton Prayer Guild pilgrims to Kiwamirembe shrine

Holy Cross Family Ministries spear headed the prayer guild members to Kiwamirembe shrine on 14th October 2016 to dedicate the families to our lady.

This shrine is known as Our Lady of Peace Prayer Centre Kiwamirembe, located on the hill at Kajjansi on Entebbe Road, Central region of Uganda.

Originally, it was a site of prayer for peace during Uganda’s devastating civil wars; Kiwamirembe welcomes pilgrims for overnight vigils, daily Masses and Good Friday.

Many people take pilgrims to this place because it’s known as a Holy Place for Mother Mary.

More than 100 Christians attended the pilgrim. This is an annual event that takes place in October, the month of the Holy Rosary.

The program started with the reciting of the Holy Rosary then after we went to the garden of gates man where Christians were encouraged to prepare their hearts before the Lord.

‘’Kneel down and recall all the challenges in your families and surrender them to God….said Betty (organizer)

The way of the cross followed to Calvary and after some few minutes of rest, the celebration of mass started led by the assistant parish priest of Nsambya Parish, Fr. Ntege.

In his homily, Fr. Ntege (Nsambya Parish) urged us to pray to God after the pilgrim so that we are worth before Him.

''We all know that the Year of Mercy is coming to an end, let us utilize it so that we benefit from it because it might take more years to have another Year of Mercy''…said Fr. Ntege.

Holy Cross Family Ministries welcomes everyone who paid a pilgrim to Kiwamirembe Shrine with our Peyton Prayer Guild. It was massive and we give thanks to God for we gathered and prayed for our families.
