We facilitated a one day workshop at Datamine school of Technical Business School Makerere Kampala on Wednesday 16th/9/2015.
The workshop was organized by the Catholic Association in the school, known as Datamine Catholic Association (DACA) and at least 50 youth participated.
The theme of the day was ’’ The role of a youth in the present world’’ and the guest speaker was the Youth Chaplain of Kampala Archdiocese, Fr. Joseph Luzindana, who urged the students to pray and become connected to God. He said that we have to go back to God when we go astray, through repentance in order to prosper in life.
‘’Kneel down before the Lord and the world will kneel down before you’’….said Fr.Joseph.
Fr. Joseph also emphasized that the youth should utilize the gifts that they have, and use them to build the world because they are still young and energetic.
Relationships being rare in the youth, we felt necessary to share about it to them, Mrs. Desire Ssenabulya taught the students about the types of love, courtship and its mistakes.
In addition to this, HolyCross Family Ministries Director, Fr. Olobo Leonard CSC appealed to the youth to always be ready for the challenges they are to face, especially in relationships.
‘’Be prepared to make informed decisions, one day, you will be alone to solve that challenge in your life’’…..said Fr.Leonard.
The youth were taught the real life situation. They were urged to know who they are first before they wait to be praised.
‘’If you cannot discover yourself first, no one will, prepare yourself for future marriage, the journey begins today’’…..said Mr. Ojambo Christopher.
In the closing remarks, the DACA Association leader thanked Holy Cross Family Ministries for our commitment to serving the lord.
‘’Thank you so much for visiting our school; it’s a privilege to meet this amazing ministry, the knowledge you have imparted in us. Hope you will again honor our invitation’’…….said the Association Leader.
