As the term is coming to an end, many schools want to close it with blessings, thanking God for the gift of life and protecting the children throughout the year.
We visited Tripple ‘’P’’Primary Shool in Mukono Municipality for a children ministry, we started the program with praise and worship, conducted by our fellowship team, and then a talk on discovering talents, which was presented by Mr. Ojambo Christopher.
He encouraged the pupils to first identify their talents, and then use them properly.
He also encouraged them to use the nearby talents they have at home like helping their parents with home chores during holidays.
Christopher gave the pupils a scripture from Mathew 25:14-30 and urged them to take a leaf from it.
Mukisa Elizabeth came in and taught the children on how to discover their talents early enough; she added that it’s through prayer that a person can be able to discover his/her talent.
Betty said that all gifts we have are from God, so we have to pray for the talents we have.
She also urged the children to first have faith in God before praying to Him for the discovery of talents and needs.
A scripture from Hebrews 11:6 was read to the pupils, to emphasize faith with in them.
‘’You should be strong and believe that God loves each one of you’’…said Betty.
Betty encouraged the children to always grow in prayer, thank God for both good and bad things in their lives.
She also taught them prudence, to be judgmental, behave well, obey and respect their elders and also have self-control especially during this long holiday.
We concluded the program with a mass celebrated by our Director, Fr. Leonard Olobo CSC. In his homily; he encouraged the children to be courageous especially in the point of suffering. He added that they should reflect this courage to speak what’s right.
Fr. Leonard appreciated the pupils for loving and knowing God; he said this after a primary five pupil read out the first reading very well.
He shared with them the story of Zakarias(tax collector) and appealed to them to repent their sins, in order to receive salvation just like Zakarias.
Fr. Leonard also encouraged the pupils to respect and listen to their parents especially in this long holiday.
‘’Work hard and pass very well to make a good name for the school’’….said Fr. Leonard.
The Director of the school, Mrs. Virginia Mugyenyi gave the conclusive remarks on our visit to her school.
She appreciated our visit and the input for the knowledge we imparted in the pupils. She said that the purpose for our visit was for the pupils’ spiritual wellbeing.
Virginia said that she made a commitment to God to make an input in the young children. She promised to buy a Public Address System to start up the praise and worship up team at her school for them to be able to have the out- reaches to other schools nearby.
This school conducts a safe mother hood campaign through empowering the children to sensitize it to their parents, through drama in the nearby villages.
It’s a catholic based Primary School in Mukono, which was started in 1998 and has at least 400 pupils.
We managed to distribute 200 rosaries to the pupils and encouraged them to recite their Holy Rosary every day because Mother Mary’s perpetual love towards us, she is ready to intercede for us to her son Jesus Christ.
