Holy Cross Family Ministries Director, Rev.Fr. Leonard Olobo CSC, gave out the advent message to the Christians during Adoration at St.Peter's Catholic Parish Nsambya.
He asked, as we have started the season of advent, are we ready to receive Jesus Christ? With the hills and valleys in our hearts, this is the right time to cleanse our hearts in order to have a joyful day of Christmas.
‘’Let us work on our inner attitude; we are called to open our eyes and hearts. This is an alert for us to watch the coming of Jesus and welcome Him, it’s the joyful expectation’’…..said Fr.Leonard.
He said that many of us think about Christmas as a day of acquiring materialistic things like buying new clothes and shoes, buying foods and drinks for the day.
''But it makes sense when we receive Christ with clean hearts.This is how we can prepare for Christ to be born in our lives and families''…..added Fr. Leonard.
Advent is a four week season before Christmas when many Christians, commemorate the first coming of Christ and anticipate his second coming. Advent can fall on any date between November 27 and December 3. This year (2015) Advent began yesterday on November 29th.
