Holy Cross Family Ministries East- Africa held a 5 days conference at St. Augustine Institute Nsambya.
The conference started on 11th-15th January 2016 and it involved all the staff from the five regions that’s to say Dandora (Kenya),Kitete(Tanzania),Jinja,Fortportal and Kampala(Uganda).

The reason for this conference was to expand the staff knowledge and find solutions to the problems in their respective regions and to learn beyond their fields and interests were among the reasons for this gathering.
As well as to present ideas and modes of work so that others also can take a leaf from the best work.
And finally to network with people from the different regional offices in their various geographical areas and social life.
On day one and two, a leadership facilitator, Mr. Mawanda Fred from Masaka Diocese, taught the participants the four levels of organization, levels of principle centered leadership, the power of team work, building winning teams and the key points on building trust.
On day three, Mrs. Janet Kamagum Opota came in with the Natural Family Planning methods and ways of maintaining them but in a catholic perspective.
On day four, the District superior of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Fr. Patrick Nearey, C.S.C, took the participants through the nine virtues of educators of Faith from the wisdom of Fr. Basil Moreau, C.S.C (Founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross).
The Assistant Superior, Br. Tumwine also graced the meeting with his presence.
In his short address to the participants, he said as teams work with families, they should bear in mind that their ministry work if well done, improves life styles in families bearing the good fruits so that the Church and nation reaps out of their work, the disciplined Seminarians, and citizens respectively.
In his concluding remarks, he said being the ministry representative on the Council he is willing to work hand in hand with the teams if called upon.
The Director, Holy Cross Family ministries East Africa, Fr. Leonard Olobo, C.S.C, emphasized more on these virtues, and also encouraged the participants to get to know the Ministry Mission and to focus on the areas of interest namely:
Family, Children, Youth and the Peyton Prayer Guilds using the Pillars of the organization; Faith Family and Prayer.
Fr. Leonard appealed to the participants to work together as teams in their respective regions so as toname continue promoting the works of Servant of God, Fr. Peyton C.S.C, the founder.
The meeting ended with a social gathering, drinks and snacks were in plenty and the participants enjoyed the evening.
