We participated in the collaborative marriage workshop on July 31st 2016 at YES Centre Nsambya,Kampala.
It was spear headed by Catholic Charismatic Renewal, Kampala Archdiocese and at least 40 couples participated giving a total of 150 people.
The theme of the day was ‘’Two heads are better than one. (Ecclesiastes4:9-12)
The function started with praise and worship led by a couple, Mr. And Mrs. Matovu Denis of Wabigalo Parish and the participants were very happy and joyful.
A talk on the theme was conducted by Mr. and Mrs. Ssekibule Augustine who were the guest speakers. They encouraged couples to be prayerful, love God, to contribute to their children’s upbringing, love each other as its biblically stated, support each other and the church projects and helping each other with the house chores.
Another couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ssemwogerere Joseph also gave a talk and encouraged the married couples to always support each other no matter the challenges they are going through.
The added and said that couples should also share each other the finances for the betterment and good planning of the family.
Sharing challenges to each other was also mentioned because keeping the challenges at heart, results to marriage stress. Couples were also urged to share to each other in case of a temptation so that they pray over it for a happy marriage.
There was also a chance of a group discussion on signs of role model families and non-role model families. Each group had to represent its points.
The day was blessed with a prayer moment conducted by Mr. and Mrs. Ssemwogerere. The couples present were asked to hold each other’s hands and pray for each other for the betterment of the family hence fulfilling the theme of the day, ‘’Two are better than one’’.
As Holy Cross Family Ministries, we were given a chance to talk about our ministry, what we do, how we do it and why we do it. We invited the participants to come for our services and they promised to come.
