Holy Cross Family Ministries Kampala Office organized the Annual Children Rosary Rally on October 7th at the celebrations of the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
Over 15 primary schools from Kampala Archdiocese and neighboring areas participated, giving a total of more than 900 pupils at the band matching procession with Mother Mary’s portrait around Nsambya with a reminder to parents never to abandon prayer at home with children.
This was followed by distribution of Rosaries then reciting them in different local languages and this was so interesting and latter crowned with the Eucharistic Celebration which was led by Director Holy Cross Family Ministries Jinja Fr. Denis Lule Kiggundu, CSC who emphasized that for the nation to get responsible, patriotic and inspiring leaders it must be built through prayer especially the Holy Rosary.
The Director Holy Cross Family Ministries East Africa Fr. Leonard Olobo,CSC gave his remarks and said that the ministry’s efforts is to promote prayer in families at school and all working places because the founder Fr. Patrick Peyton received God’s favor and was healed of Tuberculosis through prayer.
The Superior Holy Cross East Africa Fr. Patrick Neary,CSC reminded the gathering that forgiveness and successes are all received through God. He reminded the children of the Uganda martyrs some of them died at a tender age like those in primary who should be a source of their inspiration as Pope Francis said that the blood of the Uganda Martyrs should flow in each individual’s life.
The event ended with presentations from different schools, some entertained through dance and drama,poems and through composing Marian songs.
