As the children are still enjoying their holidays, we felt the need to use this chance to engage them and teach them about family prayer especially the Rosary.
We gathered them up at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Nsambya (grotto) on Friday 29th January 2016, at least 200 children turned up for this program. We started with praise and worship to boost up their morale and then after a talk from Ojambo Christopher on family prayer and how important it is to our families.
He asked the children whether they pray at home with their parents and which kind of prayers they do pray.
Some children were as well called in front to demonstrate to others on how they pray at home, to our surprise, most of them knew how to pray.
We went ahead and divided them into 5 groups basing on the 5 joyful mysteries and each team member was responsible for teaching the children how to pray the rosary in their respective groups.
A big thank you to our International office for sending us rosaries with instructions on how to recite the rosary, we used this to teach the children how to recite the rosary.
We continue to encourage these children to pray the rosaries we distribute to them, and also gave them some for their parents at home because ‘’ A family That Prays Together Stays Together’’.
As Holy Cross Family Ministries, we will continue having these children ministries as we promote the family prayer up to the end of the holidays.
