Meet Mr. and Mrs. Ssemwanga, they have been in ill-marriage for 30 years, finally they wed on 21st November 2015 at St. Peter's Catholic Church Nsambya.
In September this year, we met with this couple here at our office during a counseling session, finding a way forward to a holy matrimony. We found out that they had unresolved conflicts of which we helped them to resolve and immediately, they suggested that they will wed on 21st November 2015.
On that same day we counseled them; they registered with Nsambya Catholic Church and started wedding preparations.
As our routine here of visiting families (home visit programme) every Wednesday, we visited them at their home in Nsambya. They were at their stale selling their merchandize. They were excited to see us and shared what helped them reach the Holy Matrimony. The husband said that it was determination because after we counseled them, they chose the date there and then and they worked hard and achieved it.
He also said that, having encouraging friends around them like Holy Cross Family Ministries, this also pushed them up to this achievement.
The wife also shared with us what she thinks helped them, she talked about prayer that made the impossible possible.
‘’I used to admire other women who got married, I decided to pray to God to help me receive the Holy Matrimony’’…..said Mrs. Ssemwanga.
She also talked about patience and being a faithful woman to her husband. Being a business woman who goes for safaris to distant areas, she still remained a faithful woman despite the fact that her business associates wanted her to join them in immoral behaviors. Mrs. Ssemwanga is thankful to God for keeping her strong because many of her associates are dying of AIDS.
