We organized a Children Rosary Rally on 7th October 2016 at HolyCross Family Ministries offices at Nsambya parish in Kampala. It is an annual event aimed at encouraging ‘’Rosary Prayer’’ and this is one of the avenues to instill catholic values in the young ones.
Atleast 11 primary schools from Kampala Archdiocese and outside Kampala, participated at a function held at Holy Cross Family Ministries offices at Nsambya parish under the theme “Behold your Mother’’

The function began with a procession where pupils from different schools matched around Nsambya with a portrait of Mother Mary to send a message of prayer to the public and later held mass led by the ‘’Kiwamirembe’’(pilgrim shrine) Parish Priest, Fr. Edward Kabanda who challenged children to avoid vices, learn their faith and be disciplined if they are to succeed in life.

Fr. Edward said Mother Mary appeared to St. Dominic and assisted him to pray the Rosary and overcame bad preaching and sayings.
‘’That challenge never stopped there up to date such false prophesies exist and the only way to avoid it is through being strong in prayer through the intercession of mother Mary’’……said Fr. Edward

He also added that the Rosary is the powerful prayer in everyone’s hands
‘’Pray the Rosary to conquer all battles in life….said Fr. Edward.
He encouraged the children to defend Christ and always be exemplary to achieve success.
Fr. Edward also blessed the Primary Seven pupils with ‘’Holy Water’’ for God to give them the gift of knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
The director, Holy Cross Family Ministries East Africa Fr. Leonard Olobo, CSC said an informed society that lacks God will never be a basis for development that is why they are focusing on the young generation to save the society.
Fr. Olobo said that the Rosary Rally was introduced to renew the pupil’s commitment, to build catholic values and promote the prayer of Mother Mary among the young ones who are the future of every generation.

More than 1000 pupils from 11 schools participated in this year’s Children Rosary Rally. The pupils later performed dances and drama to show the beauty of Mother Mary.
