His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala has challenged Ugandans never to be derailed by hard situations to forget God but rather grow stronger in faith and in God the provider of everything.

In his message at the awarding of the best students in the Try prayer! It works! Contest organized by Holy Cross Family Ministries at their offices in Nsambya, Cardinal Wamala said prayer brings people together and to God, giving a new sense of direction and understanding.
He hailed Holy Cross Family Ministries East Africa for helping students learn prayer especially the ‘’Holy Rosary’’ that healed the founder of Holy Cross Family Ministries, Servant of God, Patrick Peyton, CSC who had almost failed to be ordained a priest because he was suffering from Tuberculosis in the 20th Century.
He also urged students to put God first to everything that they will achieve their dreams.
The director of Holy Cross Family Ministries East Africa Fr. Lenard Olobo, CSC said they are striving to see that families and communities put their discernment in prayer not witchcraft or other gods.

This year’s Try prayer competition attracted 17 secondary schools with 240 participants from Kampala, and other neighboring areas who competed on the theme; ‘’A woman clothed with the sun’’ Rev. 12:1, in Music Dance and Drama that was won by St. Balikudembe SSS Mitalamaria, Essay writing was won by St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama, Poetry by Kisubi minor seminary and Art by Mugwanya Summit College Kyengera as the best overall. The winners got trophies, certificates and each student and patron got 100,000/= and 50,000/= respectively.
