We continue visiting families as we promote family prayer especially the ''Rosary Prayer''.
We made a follow up on the families that we visited last month, we visited Maria Magadeline Nakalema, a residence of Nsambya slum, a Kampala suburb.
She got an accident, the bricks hit her leg and it developed into a serious wound. According to Maria, it started as a small wound, she is now finding difficulties in walking because of too much pain, she resulted to using a piece of stick to support her in movement.
‘’I am getting medication from Nsambya Police health center, I used to go for the dressing of this wound on a daily basis but the doctor realized that it was getting worse each day. He said that I leave it open for some time as he is monitoring it.
I am getting powdered capsules that I use to smear on this wound, to me its healing because I used not to even stand, but at least I can with this stick.
My worry is the medication I am getting right now. On every visit to the health center, I use shs10, 000($3) on medication. In this state you’re seeing me, I do not have money to carter for it, and sometimes I result to buying painkillers’’…..said Maria, while tears were rolling on her cheeks.
Maria is a poor woman living in a rented single roomed house with her daughter and more than 6 grandchildren. With her open wound, she is living in a poor health environment with sewage drainages all over the area, something that is harmful to her life.
She said that she used to work and get wages to facilitate her home, now she cannot, it’s her daughter who is hustling to meet the family necessities.
As Holy Cross Family Ministries, we helped her with some amount of money to carter for her medication and she was happy for our visit.
‘’Thank you so much (while tears were rolling on her cheeks), thank you for this good heart of helping us the poor. I am going to call my son Ben right a way to go to the health center and get me the medicine that I have missed’’…said smiling Maria.
We as well prayed with her, encouraged and comforted her that God loves her, she should continue trusting in Him, He will heal her wound, if she follows the doctor’s directions.
Let us send our prayers to Maria for God's Mercy on her. Maria is in great need of medical assistance.
