As our routine here at Holy Cross Family Ministries, we reach out to families every Wednesday. This time around we visited the home of Adera Mukamakumbi well known as Sister Adera by the neighbors at Makindye division, Kampala.
We received a warm welcome from her and straight away she started narrating to us how she was operated the nerves in 1996 but now she is starting to have the side effects of the operations. She cannot walk properly as well as kneel down as she used to.
‘’Ever since I got this operation my life has never been the same again. I have pains all over my body, I cannot even kneel down to thank and pray to my God because of the too much pain.
By then I used to go to church every Sunday by myself, but now I cannot. But I am happy that you have come to see us, thank you for visiting us. You give us hope and strengthen our faith. As you can see am helpless, many Pentecostals come here and encourage me to get saved but I also challenge them and tell them that am already saved in my religion and they go away without fulfilling their mission.
Please continue visiting families and strengthen their faith because there are many who are diverted from their religion because of the challenges they have in their lives……said Adera.
Adera is a former Legion of Mary leader and she served for 10 years. She still holds meetings at her home in Makindye every Saturday and teach the youth and children about our Lady.
We gave her some rosaries to continue spreading the word of God to the youth and children she is teaching and she was very happy. We also prayed with her and she directed us to some families that she knew were going through challenges and we promised that we will make a difference in their lives.
